I did some searching and didnt really find anything that answered my question so here goes. Can you run a turbo setup on a ka24e and keep the emissions junk on it? I know most people take it off. Now if its not possible what do I need to remove and cap off? I saw the write up for the ka24de but I dont think anyone has done one for the E. Are they basicly the same or whats different as far as emissions removal goes? Thanks for the help?

it is possible to run the SOHC motor w/ emissions. if you get a kit from IAP you'll have to modify the downpipe to accept the EGR tube that goes around back of the motor. the downpipe that comes with the kit doesn't accept it as it is sold. Aside from that there shouldn't be any other custom work that needs to be done.

Personally I removed the emissions because 1) it's a pain in the butt to deal with that EGR tube and I was relieved to be rid of it. 2) I live in Kansas and there's no emissions testing 3) it let me get rid of alot of crap in my engine bay and I like a clean, simple engine bay.

The SOHC is similar as far as the intake plenum goes if you want I'll go home and do a quick writeup of the emissions w/ some pictures this weekend.

go for it, we can always use more diy's .

Well, I think you can keep all emissions except the aiv - there's just simply no place to mount it.

The EGR, like Import_Ant said, you can get a bung for. I don't know what size it is yet, I've been trying to figure that one out. I'm planning on keeping the egr just for emissions sakes, "security", etc. Even cops that don't know about turbos or whatnot know to look for egr recirc valve in CA.
