i'm having trouble finding a reasonable priced KA-ET manifold I know of three and they are all $300+.. are there any other options? it seems kinda strange to have the most expensive part of my turbo setup be the manifold!

So far I have the intercooler $50, no shaft play T3 Turbo with Wastegate, BOV and flange $150, 300zx MAF $33 (not going to use it yet..)... I'm doing the down pipe myself as well as all of the other pipeing... that's still going to be under $400 i'm only planing on running 4-5psi till I can afford to upgrade the fuel system.. that's safe stock right?

Still need; Oil lines, manifold, boost gauge.

To come when I get the flow.. SafcII, Walbro, 360cc injectors, misc crap...

it just seems like a lot to pay for the manifold... anyone selling a used one?

Here are the Manifolds I have found..

JGS Precision $324.99

Import AutoPerformance $750...

Realnissan.com I was told it's about $300

Jordan Gladman Performance... Can't find any info at all?

I could always fab one myself but I know it would be a pain in the ***!

Then buy Lance's (JGS) build your own for $150. It just works out much easier to spend the money on the prefab one though.

yeah you could get one from a junkyard probably...damn i wish i knew how to weld too...i always thought JGS had flanges for sale? im not sure you should check....but my friend did it with his h23a prelude engine and used the stock manifold and welded on a t3 flange to it and it works fine...bottom mount and is still able to support a t3/t4....however there are things to consider...im not sure how strong it is and the runners on an NA stock manifold are pretty small....not at thick as you would wnt it to be...but cheap!!

it might not be as good as a real one but i'm not really going for high HP i'll be happy if a make a lil more then a Stock SR (sure I will) it's a good engine but has high miles (140k) i'll save the big stuff for when I need to put in a new engine in a few years... or months depends on how things go... lol

Welding is not that hard I don't think your first thing you ever weld should be something like a manifold just get a welder and start glueing **** together it's fun! lol

You do realize how much of a pain welding cast iron is right?

Any flange you buy will be mild steel, they aren't good bed buddies...for welding anyway.=)

keep in mind the manifold is not only going to be subjected to a LOT of heat (moreso than a NA manifold due to the extra heat caused by the backpressure created from the turbo) but it also has to support the weight of the turbo and downpipe and resist any sort of play if the motor torques against the IC piping/exhaust which are usually stationary.

a turbo manifold needs to be able to put up with A LOT of stress and also effects the cars peformance based on the efficency of the runner-design and wastegate flange (if applicable)

I know it's hard to cough up a large chunk of change for a good manifold but if there were one thing i didnt skimp on it would be the manifold.

I just thought I'd toss my $.02 in and bring up some factors you might not have considered.

http://www.cheapturbo.com <-good source for brackets and flanges if you're going to fab something up yourself.

if you go with an FMU (considering the fact your staying low boost) you probably will have one the cheapest ka-t there is
