So I just replaced the stock gapped spark plugs and wires. I bought some bosch platinums one heat range colder and gapped them to .038. I bought 7mm wires. It ran good for about two days. Now, I drove about two miles and parked and let the car run and it started to idle at 1200 ish. I turned the car off and it wouldnt start again. I left the car and came back 2-3 hours later and it started. It ran at 750 ish for a couple and right back to 1200. I finnaly got it home but when starting off in 1st, it would throw some thick black smoke and stutter a lil. I also saw some horse power loss even boosting. Could the gap be off? I checked all the wires and they all have continuity. I will be sending my ecu to emance soon to get tuned soon. Any one know what the best injector upgrade for relatively cheap is? HELP PLEASE!!. She sits until this is fixed! Now I am stuck driving a KIA.

Hybrid T3/T4 turbo, 38mm wastegate, Boosting 8lbs, 30x11x3 FMIC stock injectors stock ecu. It was running good for 2 months. I just changed the spark plugs last Sat. and on monday it died. I just put in some Bosch Platinum 4 plugs today and it runs better but only when its warm. still puts out some smoke when revving in neutral.

You shouldnt be running your car at all w/out a tune. there are many injectors out there that are good. 270cc are not going to cut it. i bet you are running the car really lean, get some bigger injectors. i got a buddy w/ 450cc perfect working dropp (no mod needed), injectors from deatschwerks, just got it back from deatschwerk from being flow tested and everything is like new, w/ new O-rings. also get walbro fuel pump w/ z32 fuel filter. AND the tune...

Throw the bosch plugs in the closest garbage bin! Grab cold range 7's NGK plugs and gap them to .30 . Even N/A bosch plugs make it run like crap and at .38 your probably blowing out spark under boost!

Boosting your car on the stock injectors, untuned, and with a stock fuel pump is idiotic. Stop boosting or you will blow your motor.

You really should do a compression check and make sure you dont already have cracked ringlands.

The brand of spark plug alone does not make an engine run bad. Incorrect gap and heat ranges make the car run bad. Your advice about the NGK BK7RE's @ about .30 is dead on, those are the most widely used and best all around plugs for a ka-t.

Choosing the right right plug for your setup is cruicial in any motor. I've just seen situations were brand new bosch platinum 4 plugs were taken back out for regular single ground electrode plugs. Not to bash on Bosch just not a fan of that plug
