After finally deciding over sr rb and ka, I finally decided on the ka...I know there isn't that big of a market for the sohc but I seemed to find everything I need...i think. Im probably going to use the ams engine rebuild kit and the jgs basic turbo kit...I know that i still need an intercooler, fuel injectors, mafs and a way to control al this stuff. I ve already started on getting my donor block bored and all that good stuff. My goal is for something around 330hp....Now my questions are...what should I do for engine management...chipped or safc or what....where can i get my ecu chipped...do I need to do anything to the fuel system besides a fuel pump upgrade? I ve heard about putting the oil squirters in my block but not sure if it makes that big of a difference, correct me if Im wrong...well Ive done alot of research on this build but you cant know everything so if there is any advice or stuff for me to know it would be greatly appreciated...please dont flame on me im just looking for advice

Go with the AMS rebuild kit. Its awesome and has just about everything you need. You don't need the oil squirters... plenty of SOHC, including me run with out them and have had no problems. Fuel pump is a must... don't wan't that expensive engine blowing up over a 90.00 fuel pump upgrade. Engine managment: You should def. go with a tuned ECU. You can tune them yourself... but its not for beginners. You can also go through JWT and have your ecu tuned. For fuel injectos, Get a set of mazda rx-7 fuel injectors. You can use VVV and they are a direct drop in the stock fuel rail.

You can use the stock maf for up to 250ish HP but since your shooting higher.. you will probably want to upgrade to the z32 maf. The safcII, tuned ecu, and JWT ecu can be programmed to run either maf. (there are more maf's to use.. i just don't know them off the top of my head)

Check out http://www.eccs.hybridka.com for more info on tuning your own ecu. Good luck with the project.

hey thinks for the advice...that hybrid site is full of info but i suck at electrical stuff so i will probably buy my ecu and then fine tune it with a safc or something similiar....how much do these ecus cost?

http://www.jimwolftechnology.c...t.asp choose your engine (KA24E) and engine control unit. The JWT ecus are 595 dollars.

I'm working on mine now. When I get it all ironed out I might be able to help.

whats the difference between the ecus....can you call and tell them what you are planning on running and have them do it that way... like say t3 t04, injectors, pistons, 15lbs of boost
