ka24e startup problem!!!!!!

the ka24e in my 90 coupe is having a hard time turning on.the motor turns over then sounds like it will start then it goes back turning over agian and it does that repetivly for about 10+ times then finally tunrs on. when it finnaly turns on it goes putt,putt,putt the car shakes then it will keep on doing this untill i rev it up if i dont keep onreving it up it wil turn off on me. but about 5 revups later it stays on. do you guys have any idea what it is?

people have been telling me that it is the hose that comes off the valve cover.i have it dissconected since i am running a short ram intake. is this true?
