KA24E SOHC Intake mods

What can I take off the SOHC intake? Can the butterfly things on the flange that bolts to the head be taken off?

yes. search for butterfly removal.

Thanks.... I had searched "Intake mod" but didn't see butterfly remova..... what else can be done?

some people remove the butterflies, egr, aiv, vapor cannister.

yes some people have.. but i gotta ask why? there's no point.. it doesn't really help. Didn't help me at least, my E still runs the same.

For Ease of installation.... I'm swapping a KA into my Z24 powered truck.... The main reason I'm going with the KA is for Fuel Injection (tired of the Hitachi CRAPurator) and to be able to pass smog.... so I guess I'll put everything in there and just loose the butterlies.

Disconnected the valve to make it easier to take off the screws for the butterfies.
