I did a compression test and got 140-145across. But at 2k idle there is grey white smoke, and under hard rev there is kinda darker smoke. Is this engine dust ? or is ther something else im might be overlooking in the fuel systeM ?

about 99% of the time white smoke is gonna be coolant, darker smoke could be oil ,and both would meen that u need a new head gasket, but with consistent psi across im not sure, maybe its a picky head gasket

I'm no expert, but I think 145psi is below the min. compression. Might be time for a rebuild or it could just be a head gasket.

they shouldnt be the same across, it should be at the most 75 % difference between some. ie-150 in the highest, 113 psi in the lowest, they should not be all the smae though, how did u do the test?

Well i was reading in here a bit and i think i might have tested wrong. I pulled single plugs one at a time and did not hold TB wide open. Lemme see :

Pull all plugs / coil wire Hold TB WOTTest one at a time Turn engine over 7-8 times ?

is this correct ?

thanx for the help

Pull injector fuse too and test with the engine warm. The numbers should go higher without all plugs and with the TB open.

if that is the case then would it be the head gasket ? what about the PCV would that cause that type of smoking ?

Well if is the PCV (i dont really know) but maybe PCV is about $8.00 to $11.00, and in a KA24e 1989, 1990, maybe you can change in about 5 minutes ;)
