ka24e smoking at 3000 on up

hey whats happening nico. had a question. i have an 89 with the sohc and i deleted the egr valve. and ever since then the car has smoked, but only after 3000 rpm. it runs fine, doesnt sputter while its smoking, but needs to be fixed. any comments would be groovy. thanks

I cant help you there but how have you been a member since 06 and only have one post If its smoking after you took the egr off then try putting it back on that may help you I dont know why you would even need to take it off you are running a sohc.

haha. well im using my works computer because i moved out of my parents and havent gotten a computer since 06. that and i picked up another project, a 1963 chevy II. so been kinda busy as well. the reason for taking the egr off was because it was smoking horribly while it was on, the check engine light was on all the time. i reset it and it would still come on. so i took it off. not it only smokes after 3000. no leaks in the seals or rings either. just as a side note thought. the douche bag who i bought the car from shaved the damn head crooked. so bad that i took it to a machine shop and they took .0040 of an inch off!!!!! we shimmed it and took care of what needed to be done so the valves didnt bottom out on the damn thing. but there are no leaks, its a dry block all the way around. so i got no freakin clue. if i cant figure it out im probably going to park it and get a de and use the "e" as a really big paperweight. lol or a mailbox

could be a few things, getting coolant into the pistons and oil, head gasket, or exhaust...

Check compression, if its good

Replace PCV, and give the intake, IAC, TB a good cleaning. Could be a nasty breather pulling oil into the intake.

well what color smoke. white smoke = bad. R u constantly adding oil.
