Okay, so I am removing the engine to replace the transmission and head. This is the first time I have removed an engine. I have a question about the engine mounts. There is one bolt in the middle holding a metal bracket that has 4 bolts into the block. Can I just take out the 1 bolt and use the bracket to lift it out or do I have to take out the 4 bolts and remove it without the bracket.

So far it looks like it would be impossible to lift off the 1 bolt.

So far all i need is to take off the transmission mount and engine mounts and exhaust manifold. Any one else have trouble pulling the engine out with the manifold unattached to the head but still attached to the body? It doesn't look like I will have enough room to pull it out. Here is a s***ty pic of the engine mount...

Take off the one nut, there is also one nut on the bottom you can take off. Either that or take the 4 bolts out. It's all a matter or what is easiest for you......I prefer the top nut, taking it out with a 14mm ratcheting wrench and a mallet. Leaving the mount in the car.

i found it easier to unbolt at least one of the mounts completely, that way your not fighting the bolts from the mount at the top which both angle in toward the block.
