Would I be able to get the same number with my ka24de? I live in CA so I would want my motor NA and pass smog. What parts/brand did you use in your motor? I only see parts from http://www.ka24de.com so I guess those are the parts that are reliable. Thank you for any advise you can give.

well i used a combination of hitech and usa rock kits. they are both stock kits with minor adjustments to the cam and the crank. they also have the option to get sronger pistons or dome top, i can honestly say that you will pass all your test being that the kit are sold to be direct replacements for the factory one. you also have the optin to get the rebuild kits from the pick up model motor witch will give u more tq and higher rpm. if you need more info got to autozone or call me 8133621970 my cell.

You may be aware of this individual, "devious ka" here on the boards. He VERY helpful with information. Information is knowledge and most of the time knowledge is the results of EXPEIRENCE ! You can't always go by the "parts/go fast books" My suggestion is to keep looking at the boards here and ask away and keep to the BASIC'S on every componet. Then take one componet and work on that while the other parts are working in your favor. Yes, it takes time, but you can avoid frustration, wasting MONEY and enjoy what you have accomplished! Look at Devious's site: http://www.hybridka.com He has a very solid program for our ka series engines. As they say, the BEST advertising is word of mouth.Mike

uhhh i hope you mistyped that and u meant 140hp

mulletdrift u should really search but i'll tell u what i think. your not gonna get 250, idk what most n/a people are getting but i think its somewhere just below 200, maybe??? idk. heres some stuff to get: header, exhaust, itb's, cam, port& polish head, lightweight pulleys and flywheel, ignition stuff, then tune it. not sure what you'll get.

speedgeek, you can get there a little easier, you already got 15 more that mullet does, you can do all the things i said for him, but also u can use ka-e pistons to bump up the compression.

and ya devious is really helpful

These are the parts that I am planning to get and some concerns in parentheses:

1. Kazama motor mount ( will this cause any issue? I see on the board that some motor mount will prevent you to close the hood; should I get the nismo motor mount instead?; nismo is cheaper and some sites have a good deal on nismo motor mount and trans mount--i planned to get this but I have an auto transmission and I am not sure if it's for auto transmission) 2. Complete set of 4 Supertech coated pistons in 10.5:1 Compression Ratio (these are in starndard bore size. what if my cylinder walls are damage? is it repairable by using sleeve?)3. ARP head and main stud kit 4. Supertech ( Ka24de High-Performance DUAL Valve Springs and Titanium retainers)5. Ka24de High-Performance Intake & Exhaust Valves6. pauter connecting rod

7. JWT camshaft ( I want a camshaft that can give my KA more power and torque and I worry about emmision issue)8. I see that hybridka has other parts so I will probably get those parts too.9. I need to find a good KA24DE rebuilder (affordable).10. i plan to get a good exhaust manifold but this could cause a problem in emmision like most aftermarket camshafts.11. find a good machine shop ( i guess the rebuilder should be able to do the research and work for me)

Friends,Thank you. As you can see I am still doing my research in parts so I appreciate every information you can give. NOTE:Goal: 1. I just want an NA KA24de that is as strong as an engine designed for turbo. HP that is close to 200HP at the wheels(am i dreaming?) 2. I am in California so I expect it pass smog and other legal issues.3. Of course, I want the engine to be reliable (it should last at least 10 years because after 10+ years I can put any engine, if the laws don't change, and don't worry anything about smog issues, etc).
