KA24E Rebuild question! PLEASE HELP

OK so here is the deal. A buddy had a K24e with a blown head gasket that I was gonna fix and put in my 89 coupe intill next winter. He was just supposed to bring the complete engine to my dads shop and leave it for me. but he went above and beyond and went ahead and took the Intake Mani and the head off with out setting the engine at TDC before he did so. Then took the still fully assembled head to the machine shop to have milled. Well the machine shop took the head apart to do the work to it and clean it. SO my question is what to I have to do as far as setting everything for timing. Can some one walk me through the process or point me in the right direction. Im pretty mechanically inclined but just have never done this b4 so be nice, if you have nothing positive to add please just hit the back button.
