ka24e problems....HELP!

ok first off a little about the car, its a 89 240 all stock, 4 speed manual.got the car ffrom my uncle after he almost had it melted down as scrap, so it had not ran in about 4 years or so, wasn't getting any fuel so i changed the pump and it ran like a champ, then it started to loose alot of power and wont rev/idle right, now it will start and idle, had to crank idle to about 1200 because when you put it in gear it dives down to about 250-350. but while it runs it is very rough and will not go past 4000rpm, barely gets there, but if i unhook either the plug wire or the injector cable to the 1st cyl. the idle smooths right out and rises about 300-400 rpm , i have tried all the basic things i can think of, canged the plugs and wires, my cousin changed the injectors, he says it is the fuel rail, but i don't know. pulled the ecu and getting the 55 code, so thats ok, i just wanted to post on here because i would really like to get it running, really don't want to be forced to do a swap. any ideas?

also forgot to mention, there is a noise on the exaust side in that cyl, kind of like air just blowing through, in a steady pace

those four speed 240s are very jdm rare. have you tried doin a compression test? its not the fuel rail. check your voltage at the injectors, also use a noid lite. check the condition of the wires leading to the injectors and also to the CKP(in the distributor) start with all that
