Hello everyone i am new to this forum and this is my first post.
My situation is my car is lagging alot and backfiring.
So i drove my car to school and it ran fine all the way there bit on the way hone it all of a sudden felt very sluggish like when i got on the gas it would feel like it didnt want to go at all so then i pulled over to y friends house and let it sit for like 10min and started it and drove it around the block it felt normal so then i decied to drive it to my other friends house sense hes more mechanically incline he told me it was probably the plug wires so i bought new ones and it seemed like it worked except the car sounded wierd it sounded different kinda like a Subaru but the car felt normal again so i thought nothing of it so i drove back to my friends house and hung out but while we were there i decied to take it for a test drive and it started bogging and lagging again we pulled the plugs and checked them the first three were clean they looked new still but the fourth one was covered in oil just the threads the part that goes inside the cylinder was oily i was super freaked out and just drove home and parked it next morning i drove to school and i drove perfect i drove it home perfect again and parked it it has been parked sense this is my first car and i love it literally all my money goes to it. I just want to know how to fix it if i can or if its f*** and should i get rid of it. Please Help

Hi welcome to the forum. So just clarifying - is it the top part that you plug the spark plug wire into that is getting oily or the bottom part that is in the combustion chamber?

if it's the top = valve cover gasket.

bottom = I think piston ring issue, someone else here may need to chime in on that.

There was oil on the threads of the spark plug not the part the the wires go on
