Whoa I have been tinkering with 240's ever since I was 16(my dad had a coupe ka24et that he gave to me when I was 16) And I thought I knew quite a bit about the Ka but obviously I was wrong.. My dad just asked me why dont I put Altima Cam's in my car and Ka24E pistons. He told me it would raise my compression to 11:1?? I was like WAAA?? Ive never heard of this. Is this safe to do? Ive put E cam's into a car(de) I was fixing for someone one time by accident and never really thought anything about it(performance gains that is).. So Is it true? does it really raise your compression? And what is all this about the Altima cams? I have my motor outta my car right now and im putting back in tomorrow morning and I KNOW I got a ka24de out of an Altima and a KA24e layin around the shop. So is it safe to throw these things in the Ka24de? And what kinda gains should I expect from this?

The exhaust cam out of an altima will not work in rwd head without slight modication. The intake cam is rumored to be 248 on some models (not entirely sure) so swapping this in with say a 91 240 exhaust cam should give you a 248/248 combo without repinning.

the ka24e pistons will swap over if they are 240sx full floating ones, giving you 11.1:1 CR.

You can buy them new, in aftermarket brand. Oem or better quality, just make sure pistons have correct specs. Aftermarket piston manufactures have the habit of making their pistons with more dish volume than oem. One manufacture that i know makes exact dish spec for ka is ITM. We carry these and they run about 140 for full set with rings/pins/locks.

I dont know the part number off hand for the oem ones.
