I have an 89240 with the Ka24e and was looking into gettin the Ka24de - is it worth swapping for 15hp?? id save so money by not swapping and start building up my internals and my turbo kit or should i just get the ka24de and start with that ??

I'd just like point out the fact that you can get KA24DEs pretty cheaply. You could always buy a DE and leave it on an Engine Rack to work on it, and when you think your ready to put it in, do the switch, that way your car stays mobile. This is my plan right now.

Well if you want to go with the KAde then like he said. get it the engine, build it up, then when its ready swap it in. or just stay with the KAe, they are close enough that its personal opionion. plus its cheaper to change just 1 cam, then 2. just more stuff ready to bolt onto the KAde.

http://www.sdsefi.com/features/240sx.htm

or adamhu's page

http://www.turbo240sx.ca/

both SOHC, SDS also has another SOHC 240 with same results, as you can see if you read both pages, the SOHC is quite a very potential motor. I would say SOHC since you already have it!!!

I'm pretty sure it won't, in fact, I'd be willing to bet, too many things are in the wrong place. Well, I guess honestly, it could go on the SOHC block, but its more work than its worth.

nope, SOHC head can't go on the block, the jets don't line up.
