I have a s13 with a ka24de with roughly 170,xxx miles. I want to go the ka-t route instead of sr. i dont know what i should do. should i look for another ka24de or should i use my DD engine and not be able to drive it for awhile. should i get a ka24e for cheap and rebuild it with ams with a jgs turbo kit. or should i buy a ka24de and build that then swap

If I was you. I would find another stock engine. Then find a blown engine. Have stock enigne as backup in case you blow the current. Then build the blown one.

Scrap/sell the E motor and just build DE's. I have been picking up a collection of Ka's for my Ka-T, i have three full long blocks and i dont even have 200 dollars invested into all three. Actualy i have 4, including the one thats in my car. Just buy ones that have blown and rebuild them. Theres always a chance that your block or head will be warped, try to not get engines that have been overheated. Always, before building an engine take it to a machine shop and they will test it to make sure its within spec.

Because the E and the DE have different exhaust manifolds, chose one and stick with it or your projects will get really expensive.

I would just save up then build the current de with a reliable, low boost setup..If you have the extra money it WILL be smarter to get another engine and rebuild but not really necessary imo. but stick to the de man, you don't want a bunch of kade and kae parts laying around that aren't interchangeable.

Do like me... get five extra motors and wait for a kit to fall out of the sky!!!lol

no matter what motor you pick they are going to require money to make it function with no problems...

you have pay to play!

either way you go do like they said make sure your current motor is reliable and build one on the side... when everything is ready put it all together and GET IT TUNED!!! then enjoy the boost!

Good luck and keep us updated...
