ka24e oil problem

i pulled the head and timing cover off to find my coolant leak in the cover, fixed that, got everything put together and now my lifters wont fully open so i have a nice ticking going on.. i primed the oil pump and everything and even over filled the oil to make sure i know there's enough oil to circulate. also the oil light is on so do i need a new pump? i searched around and they say ka24e pumps are pretty weak so i will see how much a new one is tomorrow and get it on... but i was planning to take off the front cover tomorrow to see if anything's wrong but i dont want to do that if its somethin else? any help?
