ka24e oil pressure

Well I just got my 240 running again, and while I was sittig in the car letting it idol I noticed my oil pressure light came on, then flickered on and off. I sht the car off, checked th oil. Its good, I have enough, but then I opened the cap on the valve cover and a little bit of smoke was coming out.

What could be causing the loss of oil pressure?

Why did it stop runniing to start with?

Sounds like your oil pump quit on you.

the dist. drive gear snapped, yeah thats wat I was thinking, I did get it from a Pick N Pull
