ka24e obd1 electronics and cold air intake

Has anyone discovered any electronics/computer upgrades, that they have been able to splice into wiring, plug in etc.? And what is the BEST cold air system for the d21/ka24e obd1?

I have a 1992 D21 4x4 with the ka24, which I really like the truck, gas mileage, but can't stand driving on the freeway in portland, OR and having to downshift as I come up a slight incline...

I'll probably put a new exhaust (headers to pipe) next year, but am looking to push it a little bit further... does anyone have any positive experience with these type of upgrades? And by experience, I mean, had it installed for a yr or better, or having 1st hand knowledge of the upgrade...
