hello all, i need help. i have a 90 240, stock. however i have a fully prepped head(ported, polished, new coated valves, dual valve springs, new retainers, new lifters, reground cam) and a set of je 12.5/1 pistons, rings, pins. I dont know what to do with the stuff. taking offers if anyone is interested ( working on getting pictures). i think those pistons are to high to use w/o building a race motor. should i just use the head?? i need some help or guidance if u will, if anyone has ever done this type of modification to this motor please help. thanks

Im new to the import scene but as far as i know i heard that 8:5:1 pistons are your best bet if your going with a turbo setup which it sounds like you are.

ppl, im building a NA motor (naturally aspirated), i have 12.5/1 pistons. if i use those pistons with my aforementioned head, im looking at 12.8 or so cr. if i go this high will i have to build a race motor or should i just buy different pistons??

I'm pretty sure you will have to run race gas to use that high of a cr. I think better pistons would be good. Unless you are planning to run race gas, you havent said if it was a race motor or if it was a daily driver.

12.5cr is very high and yes, prob will need race gas. The head, sure why not just use the head. I'd say just avoid using the pistons for now otherwise, the rest of the stuff go ahead and use. The higher the duration for the cams, the rougher your idle will be. So if you've gone from stock to 274/274's for example, your idle will be very volitile at rest, and chances are you'll need a less aggressive cam profile. Otherwise, I'd say everything else is good. You could also check out courtesyparts.com for their nissan motorsports section for the SOHC KA24E parts for other high performance options. Very pricey to build up one of those racing engines but I assume they're a "swift kick in your pants" fast.
