I read that a KA24E MAF can be rewired to work on the CA harness. Anyone know how to do this? I searched, but no real how to could be found. Thanks.

P.S. After my new harness gets here (Monday) I will be all set to FINALLY start my damn swap. *Fingers crossed* I will be under boost by the end of May:)

please note, the KA-E and CA MAFS ARE NOT DIRECTLY INTERCHANGEABLE. This post proves it; zerothread?id=241331 Thanks to Biosehnsucht for the info.

When I get home I can check my 89 FSM for which wires are what, and then the CA FSM PDF and it should be obvious to figure it out.. I think its been discussed so should be somewhere in the forum but I dunno.. everyone keeps saying they've done it or can do it but I don't specifcally recall someone saying HOW to do it..

ok, I looked at the fsm, here are the wiring

KA harness

Black = groundBlack/white = 12voltswhite = signal 0-5volts

Ca harness

Black = groundBlack/white =12voltsgreen/black = signal signal 0-5vgreen/yellow no connection

so the Ka Black goes to CA black = groundKA Black/white goes to CA black/white =(12voltska white goes to CA green/black = signal 0-5volts

I hope that what you want,

Gah was watching anime w/ friends and forgot to look it up, good that someone did it tho :D

I can verify the SOHC MAF wiring colors pulsar gtr gave are correct, and if you feel like double checking the CA side just check the FSM :D

Rafi, thanks as always.biosehnsucht: Thanks man. Hey, here in a week feel like taking a road trip down here and watching a few of us toss this CA into my car?;)

I like the way that sounds. Tossing the engine in the car. With me at the lead of the project, that is about what it will amount to:)

does anyone have a spare connector for the KA MAF? If not I guess you could just tell me what pins are supposed to be what color wires.

Haha I'd love to except I need to hurry up and get myself neck-deep in tearing apart my motors again and get one ready for when my pistons show up, and my car can't trusted to reliably drive that far right now.. after ~45-60 min the clutch starts slipping horribly (i.e., going up any hills or trying to accelerate) and if I go over ~2000rpm I start pinging.. on any octane gas. (dying KA24E)

This is a frustrating subject for me, because for the life of me, I don't have a single plug with those wire colors. The only plug I have left after everything is plugged in that has 4 wired has at least three wires that are red with stripes of various colors. What the he!! is up with that?

Hmmm, I'll check again, but I don't recall missing any plugs when the engine was out. I'll give it a shot though, thanks.Wait a second...I'm a d!(&, there it is, you were right about the weird location.
