hey i was wondering if anybody else has this problem with their KA24E. When racing after about 10mins or so the engine starts clicking or ticking or whatever louder and louder until it gets loud enough that i dont want to continue but once i stop racing and let it cool down it stops being so loud. I was thinking maybe the oil thins out too much maybe a oil additive would fix that or just plain thicker oil. The mounts dont hold the engine steady very well so i was wondering if that may be a reason.
When starting up cold the car is perfectly fine and i did autcross so the car never really heated up so i heard no ticking except that slight tick sound most single cam ka's make.
Any thoughts would be appreciated
thanks

Get new hydraulic lifters or run thicker oil.

Or you could bleed the lifters and see if that helps before you drop cash on new ones. Thicker oil would probably help too.

Why would he need to bleed them? He didn't have it apart nor does he have any reason to. Going by the symptoms he has, it is most likely worn or seized lifters. I am willing to bet his engine has the original equipment in it. OP pull you rockers off and pop out the lifters and tell us what they look like. If they fall out or are stuck in then you should get new.
