Hello all!
I have an 89 240sx coupe with the ka24e in it. I finally got it all build back up and found a lack of boost. I have a 54 mm precision turbo along with a 300zx MAF. I have a Tial wastegate along with a Greddy blow off valve. The tune in it currently is for 8.8:1 compression while I have 8:1 compression. The tune is from Jim Wolf technology. EGR is deleted and no power steering/Ac. About as gutted as it can be. This all being said…
I hooked it all up and have maybe a pound or 2 of boost. Drove the car up and down the street a handful of times to see if under load it would build any boost. I know that it is building at least something because the intercooler pipe slid off and caused the car to go into a “limp mode” without the extra air. It is running rich due to tune. Wastegate set to 15lbs and blow off valve is not activating.
It has a small leak around injector 2 shown from smoke test.

Is there any common leak areas for boost? Any ideas on why or how I’m losing boost? I have checked everything that I can think of.
Thank you!

I'd recommend building a boost tester. https://www.hagerty.com/media/maintenan ... -detector/

There's no "common areas" for leaks, considering it's a one-off build.

+1 for a boost leak detector.
I'm surprised you blew a coupling/pipe off at only 1-2 psi of boost. Are you sure your gauge is reading correctly?

If the boost leak detector and gauge check out OK, you're going to have to look into either having a large pre-turbo exhaust leak or a wastegate stuck open.
