OK this is a friend of mine's 90 240sx. It has a KA24E with a brand new head, brand new headgasket, whole timing kit, water pump, air filter, fuel filter, brand new cap, rotor, wires and plugs. We are postive it is in time and the timing chain is tight. Need help deciding if it is rod knock.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ok well my friend was going to take off the valve cover and inspect the valvetrain and the timing chain is extremel loose. Is the chain supposed to be loose when the motor is not running? If you are standing at the front of the car looking at the motor the left (tensioner side) is extremely tight and the right side is extremely loose.
