I recently bought a almost dead '89 hatch. After reviving the all stock KA24E single slammer, I took a step back to look at the body and frame... Boy howdy. No floors, holes in the trunk, doors, rockers and worse: no drivers frame rail. Gone. Not there at all. Thus began the search for a new chassis. Where I live, 240s in any condition are few and far, far between (I blame the heavy overuse of road salt). Luckily, I found a 92 hatch that was prime for paint, but without a engine or trans. My question: can I swap a single cam KA and manual trans with the single cam harness and speedometer into the 1991 and up hatch with no issues (direct swap)? Either the E or DE mounts can be used, right?

Thanks!

Mid-US, sorry. Probably the cause for the frame rot, the DOT likes to use its salt to its fullest exstent! :)

Yes you can as long as both engines are SOHC.
