Ka24e idling problems

I know the Ka's are notorious to idling issues but how do you fix it? Lol while sitting at a light the idle will jump from about 400 rpm to 1000rpm and keep going until I start driving again. I don't feel an problems while im driving so I'm thinking (more like hoping) it's a simple fix. My 240 does have quite A bit of miles on by I'm not sure if that would play a big factor.

i just started having the same problem. i replaced my fuel pump and it worked a little better but still does it sometimes. are you gettting a CEL? someone told me if yur knock sensor is bad then it turns on "safe mode" and it'll run lean or something....

Nah not getting a CEL so that's why I'm confused. Might have a leak somewhere

check yur IACV... or the tube connected. also check for vaccum leaks and cracked rubber vaccum lines etc. etc.

I'm also having a idle problem like this. I just changed all vaccum hoses and it will still idle weird when at a stop. But the new hoses did help a bit

clean your MAF and also check to see if your cap and rotor on your distributor is good. i had a problem like this and i just changed the cap and rotor

Also check / clean the throttle plate / throttle body. Gunk sometimes collects and messes with the bypass and idle.
