KA24E hose leak!

I have a KA24E and there's a hose that has a one inch slit down the side from being old. When the car warms up and hisses and the car barely made it back home...it took a long time to find the hose. It's above the lower radiator hose behind the thermostat assembly, behind the PS pump and you can't see it from the top of the engine. It also runs parallel to the intake manifold.

I'd like to replace the hose and all the other hoses around it. Do I have to remove the intake manifold to get to them? ANd what hose is that, exactly?

that is likely your pcv hose. If you remove your altenator you should have good feel access to it and you can feel where it attaches to the manifold. directly behind the altenator is where the other end attaches to the pcv.

It seems like that hose carries coolant, since it hisses once the car warms up. My friend drove it to school, caught three lights on the way there, and back and said it didn't overheat but leaked a lot of water. What exactly is the function of a PCV hose?

to annoy meis there some sort of spray on sealent we can use just has to last a week or 2 before my front clip comes in

must be your heater hose then and no you cant just spray something on it. replace the hose.

did you ever get your hose fixed?i think i know what hose you are talking about, i had a hose in that same area you are talking about break on me and it leaked antifreaze. i replaced it, but it was a ***** to fix.

nah i just went out and bought an s2kthrowing the 240 in the garage for another week till i can do my sr swap**** that hose
