so i bought this shell that had a blown ka24e .

picked up another ka24e ( thanks adam ) swapped it in.

in the process i removed ALL smog and emission stuff. re routed all vaccum lines accordingly so thats good. started right up.

now my issue is it has a sorta high idle, that sometimes lobes up and down dropping from 800~ to 1300~ SOMETIMES. other times it idles good.

and while driving it today for the first time, i was putting along it seemed ok under acceleration and deceleration.

my only issue now is cruising in any gear at under 2500 rpms it seems to " miss" or hesitate. sputter, choke or whatever you wanna call it but if i give it gas at ANY rpm is runs fine and rips through out the RPM range.

any suggestion? im thinking possible vacuum leak? or air getting passed the MAF. or maybe a bad ground?

anybody had similar issues and solved them?

i have a 95 ka24de that started out like that and eventually kept getting worse till it would do it at all rpm completely random... i cleaned my maf and it cleared up for a week or so then came back so i replaced the maf and havent had ne trouble since so id check that out be sure to use actual maf cleaner cause carb n choke cleaner or brake cleaner will fry the maf...

anything else? I also noticed a milky gray substance beneath my hood and on the intake, if that makes a difference. hitting the throttle anywhere around 1.8k - 2.3k will cause pretty bad hesitation. its as if ive pushed the clutch in. could this possibly be a simple fuel pump fix?

I think a bad coolant temp sensor can cause hesitation. With my car on cold starts it stalls if I dont hold the pedal down and if I floor it it bogs around 2k rpm. Its only a 15 dollar part so I am going to replace it on payday and if its not raining.

yeah coolant temp sensor could make a big difference in how it will run i just replaced my just incase of later problems cause i know it is a common problem with them the milky grey substance though find where is it thickest at that should help find point of origin then you can troubleshoot from there

I was saying find where the grey substance is thickest n it will help find the source of it
