High All! I hang out on one of those other nissan forums and after searching everything posted in the last 6 months i can't find the answer to this one... If anyone knows then this board knows! Because my board don't know s#^t!

OK so i bought this truck to resell and it needed a head gasket and a head resurface due to warping. That costs $ so i just bought a newer head for 1/2 the resurface price. The new head is from a newer truck and i wonder if it fits up right on the intake side. The bolts all line up correctly when i do a mockup.

--I want to know if the 90-92 intake manifold and gasket are going to work on the newer head. Don't know the specific year, just the mileage history on the motor. There is a significant difference between the newer head's intake injector port area and the old head's intake injector port area.

This is the head from the '91 KA24E D21 truck i bought

And this is the newer head ?year? with no porting or mods -Of course i had to grind off the casting imperfections before i install it but that don't count...

That second head looks like it has had some kind of ****ty porting done, can you get closer pictures.

As far as your question, I dont know, Truck KAE's are a bit of a mystery to me as in what things are different between model years.

the 2nd head is from the new ka24E pickup's. My 95' had the same ports on the intake. They are like that for the fuel injectors to spray in there.

truck head... intake ports240sx head with the truck intake mani gasket on there. I used the 240sx head on my truck cause the truck head was soo warped that it was destroyed. I ported the 240sx head myself and its working fine on my truck now.this is the result of me porting the 240sx head for the truck intake mani

You will need the newer ka24e intake mani gasket to fit the larger injector ports for the new head... othe than that i don't see a problem running that second head. The injectors should spray in there fine.

The new head is an exact match to my '96 Hardbody as far as i can tell. The old head has different/smaller notches for the injectors.

I think this was changed about the time that 240SX people got the DOHC.

I have the head, the tools, the gasket set, and today its raining which is a great reason get this done and out of my yard.

I don't want to put this back together and have to take it apart again. The older KA24E's are known for occasional head gasket BS so someone out there has done the same thing i'm doing now. Does it work?

I got the gasket set this morning in the mail and looked at the intake mani gasket. It matches the newer head. This is specifically listed for the 1990-1992 Nissan Truck. What gives?

:Edit:Wow, In the time it took me to eat my wheaties and type this post i got plenty of good RE: You guys are great! Thanks and i think that i'll tackle this job today.Hey wild_maxx, I saw your origional post on porting and matching the 240 head for the truck while i was searching - Great Write up on that. I'm doing the same thing but going the opposite way with it -Smaller intake, larger head ports - but i think it will be fine now.Is the truck's power curve going to change noticeably since air is going to come rushing in and hit that big cavity, causing it to slow down and become more turbulent?
