The new head is an exact match to my '96 Hardbody as far as i can tell. The old head has different/smaller notches for the injectors.
I think this was changed about the time that 240SX people got the DOHC.
I have the head, the tools, the gasket set, and today its raining which is a great reason get this done and out of my yard.
I don't want to put this back together and have to take it apart again. The older KA24E's are known for occasional head gasket BS so someone out there has done the same thing i'm doing now. Does it work?
I got the gasket set this morning in the mail and looked at the intake mani gasket. It matches the newer head. This is specifically listed for the 1990-1992 Nissan Truck. What gives?
:Edit:Wow, In the time it took me to eat my wheaties and type this post i got plenty of good RE: You guys are great! Thanks and i think that i'll tackle this job today.Hey wild_maxx, I saw your origional post on porting and matching the 240 head for the truck while i was searching - Great Write up on that. I'm doing the same thing but going the opposite way with it -Smaller intake, larger head ports - but i think it will be fine now.Is the truck's power curve going to change noticeably since air is going to come rushing in and hit that big cavity, causing it to slow down and become more turbulent?
