Is it true that #1 and #4 use different injectors than #2 and #3?

And that the production month in 1990 would determine which color dot injector is used? A smog tech said that every 3 months they changed the color dot of the injectors through 1990.

And what do the color dot marks mean?

I don't think so. I have a injector flow bench and I have never seen different size injectors in a engine. They are always the same size. I don't know about the dots that he is referencing to.

All the injectors should be the same. I have never heard of a "color dot" for injectors. Are there colored dots on your injectors?

This was a Gold Shield shop and the guy was serious. He kept asking me the exact month in 1990 the engine was made so he could look up which color dots should be on the injectors. The injectors I have had no colored dots so he sent them all out to be checked on a bench to see how they sprayed and measure their flow output. And BAR/CAP approved this so someone believed it.
