OK, I'm probably asking a question that should be a "no brainer"....but here goes anyway. I bought a set of o-rings for my injectors. It's pretty clear which ones go in the fuel bar and which ones are supposed to seal between the injector and the intake......Now , there are 4 other seals that look more like grommets than anything else. Where do these go? There are none on the existing injectors so I can't see where the originals come from...THanks for any info

Theres a gasket that goes on before the O ring on the feed side, then you put the O ring on. Theres another gasket on the tip that goes into the manifold.

See, now that is what is confusing. the gasket goes on the top of the injector before the o-ring. when you push the injector into the feed side, it seems that the gasket does nothing. there is nothing on the injector that will compress the gasket to the feed bar. At least on my injectors, it looks like the do nothing.....

the o ring is the main seal. the other 2 gaskets act like a cushion for the injectors.

all of the above is true. Mine were leaking and i bought all the o rings and it still leaked. long story short, had to buy foru new injectors. Once you replace one the others start leaking.

hell yeah, i just spent 35 bucks on new seals and my injectors still leak, but not as much as before. I want new injectors, but if im going to spend that much, i might as well upgrade them.

OK, I guess I'm probably dense here. :rolleyes THe question is about the seal that looks lie a grommet. I know the oring goes up in the feeder bar...I know the thick seal (looks like a thick o-ring) fits between the injector and the head. THe third one is where I'm confused. It the ring that has a slot around it and looks more like a grommet. I read that it's pushed over the top of the injector. I can't see where it's sealing anything. you push the top of the injector into the feeder bar and the top o-ring seals that. But the placement of the third seal is just there. I thought it may be pressed into the feeder bar behind the top o-ring. There's no room for it there. When I replaced the seals, there was not one of these on the injector. So geez, what the heck does it do? THanks:D

it doesnt really seal anything, its just like a cushion. Your are right about the first groomet on the tip of the injector (cylinder head). Now before you put the o ring on the feeder end, slide the other grommet on first and push it down as far as it will go against the top of the injector. Now put the o ring on. then you can put everything back together.

Where did you guys buy the seals? I tried to get them form Napa, but they only had the fuel-rail-O-ring seals, not the injector-to-manifold nor the grommet cushions. It's weird how I've just been trying to get some seals and someone else has that very same problem. My car smells funny cuz they are leaking, and I'm wondering if the leakage has made it run richer than usual, cuz my MPG is just bad. 14mpg in the city. That's Mustang mpg...*sigh*.... again, the place where you guys ordered the seals, or a link to their website. Thanks,

Ahhh, well that's what I thought. it's not even thick enough to cushion anything since there about 1/8th of an inch clearanceon either side of it. What would have been a much better idea would be a double o-ring setup on the top of the injector..

BTWbsil80drifter, I bought mine from the Nissan dealer.. I think they are about 5 bucks

yup Nissan dealership sells the whole set. I bought a set of o rings from Discoun Auto Part and they didnt work. So I went straight to Nissan for the whole set. As for the injectors groomet having too much clearance, maybe the fuel rail is bent or they are the wrong injectors. The whole o ring and groomet set is supposed to fit perfectly.

I also bought rings from 3 different auto parts stores and absolutely none of them worked! I bought new injectors to fix my leaking and they came complete with the rings and insulators. If after all that they are still leaking I would replace them. Got mine from AMS

$65 with a $15 core + shipping (that's $50 per injector!).
