KA24E Fuel Hog Need Help Please

I have a 1999 Nissan 4X4 twin cab PU 2800 KA24E D21 in Uruguay that was assembled in Mexico that gets 8 mpg if I am lucky. For short trips it is even worse. The exhaust pipe is completely black. The Nissan dealer there tells me that it is "normal" consumption. B.S. I took the truck to an independent garage and had the exhaust gases measured. The results are:

RPM: 2820 RPM: 780

CO: 0.96% CO: 1.56%

CO2: 12.9% CO2: 12.7%

HC: 99PPM HC: 123PPM

O2: 0.5% O2: 0.4%

I do not have equipment there to troubleshoot the problem on my own and the mechanics there are shall we say not the best. Even part numbers are difficult to get from Mexico. I thought maybe just start changing parts like the O2 sensor, coolant temp sensor and ? I hate to be a parts changer but I have little options. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Help, Help. This truck is 5000 miles away and I don't have any good mechanics there. Any ideas are appreciated.

Without any troubleshooting equipment, sometimes all you can do is throw parts at it. I'd say O2 sensor and coolant temp would be a good start, as they both can have a very big effect on MPG.Make sure the airfilter is good too.

Can someone please look at the gas analysis ans comment on the numbers in light of the high fuel consumption? Thank you.

with that kind of mpg i would look for a leaky injector or a leak somewhere in the fuel system.

No one with experience with exhaust gas analysis on this board? Hard to believe.
