360 for a full rebuild kit sounds like a great deal. most of that price would be pistons/rings/and cam gear chain set. if u bought all of that separatly it would be at least 150 more. thats an excellent deal if u want stock.

If you are going to be doing a rebuild, depending on what you want to do later with your car, you might want to check out some forged internals- a bit more expensive but you can easily turbo later. Or, get some higher compression pistons and make some more NA power. Either way I wouldnt want to get my motor back together and think, "hmm, i wish i had spent the extra money to beef it up a little", cause thats what i'm thinking right now.

Yup, im having to wait 4 weeks with my baby under the car cover in the driveway (her spot in the garage is strewn with engine parts) for my custom forged 10.5:1 JE pistons. But when all is done, she should be AWESOME!

360 ain't that bad. that's basically what i paid just for that hotshot header. to put your engine back at 0 miles, that's a pretty good deal. but then i guess you have to have access to all the right tools and an engine hoist.

You can probably get away with purchasing those seperately for about the same price.

When I rebuilt the KA24E engine, we spent about $450 for everything, which included a timing kit, gasket kit, rod bearings, rings, and a complete head job.

Pistons are $130 each, rebuild kit was $299, but i still need to get a timing kit and water pump (the $299 came with the complete gasket/bearking set and oil pump, but no timing kit or water pump). Then theres the labor for the machine shop: about $400 to bore the block and hone each cylinder to match the piston, clean up the head and replace the valve stem seals, and check everything for cracks. Not too bad i guess.

Thanks, but im gonna get a new one. Not because i dont trust yours, but for the last 3 weeks all ive done on my car is clean it. Ive painted the front cover silver, along with the thermostat housing, the distributor, and i have a brand new shiny oil pump. If your water pump is spotless, i might get it. But i want a new one so it aint dirty. lolFYI shipping is about $10 from you to me, so it sounds pretty tempting!
