I have a 90 240sx with a KA24E (not cali). My motor is still running really rich. I checked the vacuum pressure on the manifold and it's rolling back and forth between 16 and 17" HG real fast. Like a quick flick back and forth. I pulled my BPT valve thinking that it is the EGR because I can't think of anything else it could be. The air coming into the bottom of the bpt is a soft puff and is intermittent like every 1/2 a second a small puff comes out. Is that normal for the bottom bpt line? And also there is no vacuum being generated on top of it. I removed it and blew into the bottom and you can clearly hear air coming out of it. The BPT shouldn't leak right? My FPR is also reading real high like 35-40 even though the vacuum is steady and I've set it repeatedly to the correct number (it's an aeromotive fpr). I'm going to guess from all this that my bpt is leaking but if I replace it will it solve my rich problems? Any suggestions? I also checked the EGR and it's vacuum hold is perfect - no leaks at all.
