I have a 1990 240 w/ ka24e and I need some help from someone who has one. First thing is if you could look at your distributor and on the side towards the front of the engine it has an electrical clip/wire coming out and that is what I am missing on mine. If you could tell me if it just goes to a ground or wherever I would truly appreciate it.

Also On the right side of the engine bay if your looking at it from the front, there is a green/aqua wire that comes out of the tube that comes from the dash(i think) if you could also tell me where that goes on yours It would help a lot because it is cut on mine.

Thanks, I tried hooking up the cut wire to the distributor but my car still wouldnt start

You should have a 4 wire connector that comes from the distributor that connects to the engine harness at the front of the head. That is for your crank angle sensor. without it your car will not run. Ther is also a single terminal lug "Tab" on the distributor. That is a ground. Your car will run with out it. You can just connect a ground wire to it and ground it at the head.

As for your green/aqua wire. I can't help. Most of hte wireing has been taken out of our race car. Try tracing it back to where it starts and then check your FSM for where it goes. If you need an FSM use the "Search" button. Try "240sx fsm" for the search term.

Ok thanks a lot man. I saw that lug tab and tried grounding it but that didn't help and the wires for the cas looks fine.

So right now i'm thinking it won't start because the computer is bad, what are the odds of that? I've taken off fuel rail and checked all injectors, checked fuel pressure, checked all relays and fuses, checked ignition coil power and spark plugs, but I still can't get the f***er to start.

I know it has to do with the fuel injectors not getting the ground signal from the computer because they are always getting power.

Anything I am missing or suggestions? Or should I get a new computer, they are only 35 at a pick n pull.

If you have veriffyed you have spark and you have fuel then you only need to have air and compression for it to start.

Assumeing you have compression and you say you have checked fuel pressure then I would try spraying starting fluid in the air intake. If it trys to run then you are probably correct and you have an ECU problem. They do go bad. HOWEVER, I would expect to see only one or two injectors not working rather than all 4. It is rough but the KA24E can run on only 2 cylinders. Not very good but it will run.

I would say try the starting fluid and if it runs then spring for a replacement ECU. Better option is if you have a friend that has a spare ECU they will let you try.
