I searched and can't find anything on how to gut the plenum for the sohc engine, I only come accrose the dohc process. Also will I suffer any adverse effects from doing this?

dohc process should be the same for the sohc. Just cut the butterflies out and jb weld the left over holes in the ports.

Ive heard you will lose some low end torque, but i rather have my engine breath easier all the time.

How hard is this to do? I have never tried to gut a plenum before, so I am starting to have second doubts.

its easy, i did it on a dohc motor before.

2 little screws hold the buttflies to the little main rod.

take out all the butterflies and take a dremel and cut the rod into sections. the remove the actuator at the end of the intake manifold. Once you remove everything, there will be little hole left over in each of the side of the intake ports. Some JB weld would fix this nicely.
