KA24E distributor problem

Need help.

I have just purchaced a s/hand SOHC Ka24E engine and it had a cracked timing case near distributor. I sent it back and the cover was repalced with what looks like an earlier timing case. It was returned with a diferent distributor ( round cap, smaller and 4 pin plug) compared to the type that was originally in the vehicle and that was on the engine when i first got it, cap more square and bulkier with a 6 pin connection. My question is can i set up this 4 pin distributor to work with my 6 pin wiring and if so does anyone know how ( wiring colour codes ect) I am woried that it may not work properly with the computer in regard to timing.

I have looked at modifing the right distributors mounting holes, it coulkd be done. can someone tell me where the rotor should point with no 1 at TDC

I haven’t encountered such problem before. Where did you purchase them? Did you question the shop regarding that matter? You must’ve had this Nissan Distributor Cap - http://www.shopnisparts.com/nissan-distributor-cap/ - to assure yourself of the quality and information that they give. I never heard of complaints about them.
