Ive got a 92d21, 4wd, and am looking into swapping in a ka24de from a 1992 240sx... is the exhaust the same, manifold bolt pattern is probably the most important, as the rest of it should all work the same...

Also, I have a totally stupid question... whats the difference between s13/s14?

Not sure if your question was answered but...

S13= older gen (89-94 I think) and included a sohc and dohc engine in its gen
S14=I believe it was from the following years 95-98, I don't think there were very many engine changes between the 91-98 "KA24de" engines (feel free to correct me if I am wrong as I am new to the forum)

KA manifolds are the same.

The exhaust AFTER the manifold (downpipe, cat, catback) will be different, but the maifolds are the same.

ok the difference between s13 and s14 motors are as follows

s13 DOHC
1) external coil for the distributor
2) Valve Cover has one less hole in the very back middle
3) More difficult EGR system
4) Cams are 240 intake and 248 exhaust

s14 DOHC
1) Internal Coil and apparently pretty strong spark
2) Valve cover has extra bolt in the middle rear(apparently s13 were prone to leaks here)
3) EGR is just one tube aside from 2
4) cams are a 232 and 232

those are the differences i have noticed playing with the few that i do have

When was the transition from 13-14?

One more question, is it possible to take an s14 motor and move back to the obd1 setup?

Lots of good info at www.240sxtech.com, and of course the Nissan Trucks forum: nissan-trucks-forum.html
