I dont ever post on here. I am usually pretty self sufficient but this time i am stumped.
I swapped a 240 ka24e into my datsun 720 and its not running well. I converted it to rear sump using a truck pan.
It turns on solid and idles, rough when cold because i cannot plug im the air regulator because there isnt clearence for the connector against the firewall. But that wont effect my symptom.
It revs very smoothly under no load but it revs very slow. Under load, its smooth as well but no power. I can bearly go on the road. It cannot go up any hills. But its very consistent. From the moment i turn it on u til its very warm the symptom doesnt change.
Motor was known healthy and ran fine in the 240.
Checked cam timing, ignition timing, no clogged exhaust, spark tested, plugs gapped, rotor and plug wires and cap all good.
Ignition timing is advancing with revs.
Code 21 im getting, not sure why but i cant imagine its causing these symptoms.
Maf is good
Tps is doing wierd things going to replace but since everything is so consistent i cant imagine its a sensor.
Everything timing related looks good.
Any thoughts?
