wtf? I don't really get it. Air boxes are for holding a panel style filter, so what's the point of a box with a filter on the outside. I see no benefit whatsoever here.

wow man thats uhmm.....

yeah...sorry stumbling to find words. You got out you drill and saw to make the box,but couldnt make the adapter fit the maf

dont get me wrong the box would be great IF the dang filter was INSIDE... also it would be even better on the other side of the engine bay, as far away from that stupid exhaust mani. as possible. Just make sure the box gets fresh air into it so it gets LIKE a ram air would......

good effort tho

i like the plastic, pretty creative. Is there really any point to an air box. is anything different between having a box, and bolting the filter to the end of the tube?

Yeah, on 240s a cone style filter has an open element that's a little over a foot away from the exhaust manifold.Using the aluminum pipe from an intake kit on the stock airbox with the front cut out is the best in my opinion. At least without moving the battery and putting the intake there.

You seem handy enough...

Move the battery to the other side and rig your intake to where your battery tray isDrill a hole in the tray and put the filter down under the chassis for colder air

Or just do that on the side your on which would be obviously easier but not as visually appealing

Instead of creating a chamber of airflow revision, why didn't you just make the adapter plate out of plexi? Don't get me wrong, I realize it's something you just threw together for whatever reason, but in my opinion it's going to hurt performance a little.

im diggin the creativity with the plexi! although the design of that thing isnt really too great...

part ARC, part HKS, but all you. +1 for the creativity, although i don't see a gain from it, its nice.

i would go to your local plastic supply store (TAP Plastics in the Bay Area) and find ways to make molds for piping if you feel creative enough. i bought a book on how to weave carbon fiber, and although it isnt the really strong stuff, i managed to make body armor for my dog with it.
