i have my distributor set so retarded right now to keep this thing running it isnt funny, so I first thought that my valve timing was off as i did just rebuild the motor (my first motor rebuild) and i did time it myself, but apun taking off valve cover and checking timing marks ect, its just fine, so i started looking at the distributor and youll see that theres a wire missing, a wire I believe to be the CPS ( crank angle position sensor) but i have no wires that could posiibly go to it:

the prong sticking out near the already existing wire unit...... CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GO OUT TO THERE 89-90 240sx and look at the wire there and tell me what color it is or get me a pic, and or where the wire goes to, I NEED THIS THING RUNNING properly..... i cant keep my distributor set like this LOLOOL !!!!!!!!

I have a missing wire there as well and the only problem I have is the car hits a fuel cut or speed limit in 3rd gear at 5K rpm and 4th gear about 4500 RPM...

Other than that, My timing is good and I never noticed anything about this wire before...

you could put an extra ground there but its not missing any wires. looks just like mine cept my cap is black. mazdaman that sounds like you or someone tried the homemade speed limiter removal. Or unplugged the sensors for said gears for same reason.

hmm.... i wonder why my dizzy needs to be soooo far turned to run smooth.... even though my timing is fine... this wouldnt be so bad if i could bolt my dizzy down but its turned soo far that the mounts dont line up.... bad dizzy maybe?

has 225k on it.... looks oem

IDK i forgot to tighten the bolts on the clutchfan whyll i was turning motor over by hand to test timing and when i turned car on again and reved it in the street the damn thing sheered off and sent my pulley rolling about 1/2 block away.. was kinda funny but at same time i need a new clutch fan... or just go electric and gain some extra torque mwahauau

anywho.. please help !!

You probably didnt line up the oil pump matchmarks before you installed it into the front cover, hence the distributor is a few teeth off......?

There is a dot on the oil pump shaft that has to line up with the divot looking thing on the oil pump itself. Line those two up then stab the dizzy.
