I have a Ka24e and I want to be able to get a bit more out of just my engine alone. And I'm not a huge fan for SOHC engines, so I've been thinking if I could take my ka24e bottom end and put a ka24de top end on it. Would that work without too many modifications? Or should I just save up for a ka24de engine altogether?

I would save up and buy a whole ka24de. This way you have all the parts you need. Trying to do the swap sometimes you can spend more money on buying a part here and a part there.

it's possible after some modifications to run a DE head on an E bottom end...i just wouldn't recommend wasting the time. Do it the easy way and just get the whole thing together.
