My engine is stock (i think nothing i know of) runs pretty good, my whole exhaust pipe is rusted full of holes (not near the manifold) no problems what so ever,

so i decided to give it the Comp test, we were gonna test a SR20 but meanwhile we tested mine, the car had a while like 1 hour or 40 mins sitting cold, fully pressing the pedal down we tested:

All pistons 150, so i was happy, really steady on all of them no difference.

but i started reading online about plp with 180? 190??? So whats up with my compression?

engine runs incredibly good, been using it for track drifting for a couple of months so im wondering...... why im 150 and i see plp with 180,190?

Im planning on turbo but i see some plp say 150 is good, 180 is normal and good, 200 for turbo, and im like..... ok Whats the most normal regular psi u can get....

warm up the car and redo the test. You may be up in the 180 range on a warm engine.

You need to get a FSM and check what the compression is supposed to be at. Also, a comp checker can go bad with age, you might wana try another gage.

A DOHC's minimum compression is 150, but i have no idea about a SOHC.

The big thing here is that they are all balanced(and not to low), and yours is. I wouldnt worry about it to much as long as its running good.

Actually 150 on pretty much across the board on the SOHC cold like he mention is exactly what its suppose to be. Don't forget the earlier sohc came with like 8.9:1 compression ratios.

anywho, sohc's are the sex when boosted, wish I'd had a chance with my old motor,

sounds like you motor is solid, try tossing a vac gauge on, if you at18~22 in you are golden

Actually im soooo damn happy, my engine is working TOP NOTCH, im actually located in the Dominican Republic near Puerto Rico,

Yesterday i was drifting again, entering @ 85km/h in 3rd gear and hanging there pretty good :D now im in love with the ka, now i got to start up the Ka T bussiness

im the only nut job thinking on KAE-T project, im against all opinions, but im gonna silently do my ka24et

Right now im inside hybrika reading about tunning etc, already got familiar with all the tunning stuff, got a base tune and im getting ready to go turbo

I just need money :S not exactly rich but im gonna do it slow as i go

Plans:

460cc rx7T25 from SRSMICWalbro (duh)Chipped Stanza ecu with base tune for my setup then going dyno and tunning widebandstock mafsome bovinternal wastegate

This is gonna be a test build and a learning base for tunning, actually want to learn on safe boost how to tune etc, understand the behavior of engine management.

After that ALL OUT :D

Meanwhile i need money >:P I got 2 engines and as far as i know the other one is just as good as mine.
