so guys i was gonna have my cam reground for 150 bucks by SLR but they just told me they wont touch it. because the specs i gave them will cost 600 just to do. The specs i gave them were the same as stage 1 cam from PDM's list of ka24e regrinds they had on there website.

They told me they got to weld extra metal to the lobes then regrind it and use a special hardening method to make the metal right. and that's why the dollar price went up. i guess im just gonna have to save up to buy a PDM one. 250 for the cam and a 250 core deposit... Cheaper than 600 but i don't have 500 to dish out all at once for a cam. Don't think i want it anymore...

Well, that's what a regrind is. Adding material, then grinding to specs. 250 is cheap for a cam IMO. Considering mine ran me 400+ for a custom grind

yea 250 is OK but the core charge is ridiculous even thought its refundable. i don't have the money at the time to dish all that out at once. so this guy that took my cam to SLR said they would only charge 150 but he came back with a much higher number.

Call pdm and see if you can send in your cam and they ship the new one when they get it to wave the core charge, of course this wont work if your 240 is your only form of transportation.(it would work if you found another kae cam to send)

luckily i have a spare sohc head lying around and another entire sohc engine sitting on a stand.
