Well Im looking into getting a cam for my single slammer. I found a couple but they well on the high side. But I found this one on summit racing but I had a question.

Would this cam work with my 89 single? it says mechanical flat tappet style cam. I have stock hydrolic lifters and i didnt know if this would work? any help my fellow Nico peepszz

According to the site, the cam will only work on the Z engines. So no, it won't work.

I would skip the cam altogether anyways, unless you're doing some crazy naturally aspirated build.

It's really just not cost effective. You'd be WAY better off with a 50 shot of nitrous or something, as lame as that sounds.

You want single slammer cams? O and J Performance. Just ask them whatever. I think they have like 2-3 cam profiles. I want one for my project hatch this winter.

also look into those lifters. And seriously ask them a couple questions about what cam is good for what application. most say for increased mid range and okay for daily drivers or for track use only.

Yea I might need some my single now doesnt make any ticking at all once it warms up then they quit. But yea my car will be a daily driver and a drifter so I just wanted something to maybe have some extra power with. do you know how o&j cams are?
And the core charge do you send it in once you get the cam you buy?
