After a long time thinking it was a fuel problem it turns out my camshaft was just broken. I know this is an interference engine how bad does it look? I'm not that experienced with this engine how brittle is the camshaft? Anyone have any ideas the reason it snapped? I'm about 99 percent sure it happened at idle too. I never had any knocking/timing chain rattle, engine sounded perfect before thats why I never checked the timing chain till now.

Here are the pics:

OH wow. Yeah I garuntee your valves are bent, and you would need a whole new cam and rockers. Start looking for another ka.

You think all the valves are bent? Is it possible to get lucky and only have a few?

Anyone know of a price range to get it rebuilt or is it just cheaper to find a new ka24e?

Also if you guys know general prices for the sr20 or ka24de I would appreciate it

Even if you have one bent valve, its cheaper to pick up a whole new ka. I got one with a blown headgasket for $80. I just swapped the head from that to my block that was in the car. $45 for resurfacing head and pressure wash, %50 for OEM headgasket, $45 for head bolts. So for less then $230I have a whole other KA to rebuild, and a perfectly running car again.
