Does anybody know if the ka24e transission will bolt on the the ka24de? I know the "de" is twin cam, but they probably have the same block-right?

or just swap the whole thing, bell housing and all.

the transmissions are the same, minus an extra sensor on the DE transmission. not sure what its for, but it defenitly runs without it.

S, do you think an auto to manual swap in a 97 is possible with only a 89 parts car?

The only difference with the KA24E and KA24DE transmissions is that the "DE's" have a 1st gear syncro (as far as I know), where the "E's" don't have it... but that is the only difference that I know of.

no, they both have first gear syncros, the difference is that the later model de manuals have a syncronized reverse.
