You sure the bellhousings are different? Thought they were the same.

BTW, starters from DE's work on E's, look a little different but they work.

I remember KA24E use hitashi starter, and 91'-1/2 and up use Mitsubishi starter. Mine is bulit in early 91' and uses Hitashi starter. How I found out?I special order a starter solenoid at two different places. They were all ordered my a mitsubishi solenoid. Finally, I went to the dealer and order it. They still ordered me the wrong one. After the guy flipping thru his book, and found mine uses hitashi starter.

to answer your question, they are not the same. They might interchangeable.

This is a old *** post I found while I was searching but I wanted to give the correct information..

Yes KA24E and KA24DE starters are the same

Also Automatic KA24E/de starters are the same as manual starters.

(they may look different but they are the same specs)
