Ive tried researching and researching, but I could never find a definite yes or no. Based on my research I think Ive found that the ka24de alternator uses a different pulley and the ka24e alternator, so I should be able to switch the pulleys and everything else should work right? I have a ka24e, and the alternator I bought claims it will fit both engines.

I bought the alternator from ebay already (gonna try and install tomorrow). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...&rd=1

Any input or knowledge about it?

if the connectors are the same it will work. I believe there is 3 different pulleys for the altenator over the yrs 89-98 240s. 2 different dia V-drive pullies and 1 serpentine drive pully.

The pulley was a little bigger (and I do mean a LITTLE) so I bolted it up, adjusted the top screw (the one you can slide) and adjusted until I felt the belt was tight enough, and it works.

Anything wrong with having a bigger pulley? Would it make the engine work harder/run slower than it would with a smaller pulley? Like I said, it works, I changed the alternator and the battery and the car crunk right up, fast.

check your output voltage and current. make sure they are within limits per esm if so you should be ok. its going to turn slightly slower then the original but if it can still charge the battery under a heavy load I think you'll be ok.

"per esm"? I dont know a damn thing about testing output voltage and current. Should I buy a voltmeter?

some of the autopart stores do free testing in the car see if one locally will do it for you.
