ok a salvage yard close to me has a complete motor and transmission ka24E and ka24DE for 150 each and they both have wiring harness just no ecu and mafs he does not know if they run or not the guy who brought them to him said they both run great. should i buy them not knowing if the run or not? they both came out of a 240sx one was an 89-90 model and the other came out of a 95-98 model. they should be worth it though i guess. what do yall think?

yer nobody just gives good engines away.........

on the flip side what kind of engine do you have? don't by both you don't need both

if u got a SOHC maybe get the SOHC and you can do something with the head, like port it, cam it, rebuild it, port out the intake manifold, paint it.. etc... be a good little project

haha well i got the sohc with the 5 speed. the trans feels good so imma install it tomorrow the clutch is still new in it.the compression isnt worth a shyt, lmao never tried number 1 but 4 is 100, 3 is less then 40,2 is 60 so i never tried number 1,lol but it has everything i need to fix mine like the egr. all the little sensors and doodads because right now the only thing i have hooked up is the brake booster and the fpr. it drinks gas but it feels strong haha. imma take the head off and rebuild it and make sure its all good and imma take the block to the shop and get it redone then imma build a na ka thats pretty fast, haha but i never tried the dohc to see if it turns over, lol but i might get it and rebuild it as well.

$150 for the whole set? not bad, worse case scenario, just rip it apart for fun and see whats inside

well the only thing i found wrong with the sohc engine is the headgasket is blown and already got my motor tore down to swap the parts i need, lol i found out y my motor was smoking in the first place my damn PVC or PCV or whatever it is,haha is bad my intake is full of oil and so is inside the ports in the head. so imma just change the entire intake manifold. the trans still seems just fine i took it apart and cant find anything wrong with it. im thinking about going back for the dohc with the automatic transmission and see about that one the only thing i see wrong with it off the bat is the throttle body is bad on it. do yall think i should go for it also?

modify it and put the DOHC head on the SOHC block..... it is possible and makes a good N/A motor with HIGH compression
